DISABLED VISITORS

To ensure that the Balmoral Show does not discriminate, standard admission rates are charged for all visitors, the Society is very aware that not all disabilities are visible and also that individuals may not wish to discuss their particular circumstances at a crowded public admissions gate. Unfortunately in Northern Ireland there is no standard registration for disabled people requiring a carer or personal assistant. However, if a visitor requires a carer or personal assistant to enable them to visit the Show, the carer should apply in writing with supporting documentation before the Show and, where eligible, will be issued with a complimentary pass for use when accompanying the disabled visitor. The Society will ensure that a reasonable adjustment is made. To: Theresa Morrissey, RUAS, Eikon Exhibition Centre, Balmoral Park, Halftown Road, Lisburn, BT27 5RD

*UPDATE* as the Show draws closer please email this to theresa@eikon.uk.com

Information on supporting documentation available here.

Provisions for Disabled visitors- Disabled parking is available for people in possession of a blue badge, this is on a first come first served basis. There are disabled access toilets across the site. This year the Show will also be providing a high dependency changing unit. The H.D.U incorporates many facilities for the disabled including a fully automatic tracking hoist, height-adjustable changing couch, support hand rails for ease of movement, and emergency call alarm. There is more than adequate space in the changing area for the disabled person and up to two carers. A centrally placed toilet with room either side for the carers, and a curtain to allow the disabled person and carer some privacy. This will be located between the Welfare unit and Fair Price Mobility unit at the Main Public Entrance 1. To hire a mobility scooter for the Show contact Fair Price Mobility on 07850175620
