Sun shines on another great show!

After the great success of the 2008 Balmoral Show, where huge crowds of visitors attended for 3 days of sunshine, excellent entertainment and a record number of livestock exhibitors, plans are now well underway for the 2009 Show which will take place from the 13th – 15th May.

The Balmoral Show in partnership with Ulster Bank is Ireland’s largest Agricultural Show that entertains the whole family. The Bolddog Lings, who are a motor cycle display team, will be the main attraction this year in the Main Arena, where International Show Jumping and Falconry displays will also take place. This years Show will offer its usual extravaganza of colour, competition and showmanship along with daily displays of pedigree horses, ponies, cattle, sheep, poultry, pigs and goats.

Around the Showgrounds there’s lots more to keep the crowds entertained, including Dog Agility competitions, Garden Village, Sheep Shearing, Jenny Bristow Master-classes, Children’s Farm, Craft Village and Band Stand to name but a few. Some attractions returning by popular demand to the Show year include Titan the Robot, who took up residence at last year's event, roaming the Showgrounds and treating amazed onlookers to a quick one liner or a serenade! The rodeo bull also was a firm favourite last year, where those with nerves of steel supported by cheering on-lookers tried their best to hold on tight.

The Garden Village will again play host to a variety of gardening demonstrations, covering a wide variety of subjects including hanging baskets and woodturning.

The musical element of this year's Show will be taken up an octave with the lively sounds of Panache bringing the Show to life with the sound of music!

This year there will be a new and improved schools trail at the Show. This is a hugely popular attraction with school groups. It’s colourful child friendly booklet and fourteen point trail of discovery around the grounds brings the Show to life for all school children.
