INTERNATIONAL SHOWJUMPING

CSI2*

Balmoral Show 2023 will once again host a CSI2* event with 6 International competitions boasting a prize fund of €55,000 and will take place over 3 days Wednesday - Friday.

The number of horses in each of the 6 International competitions limited to 35. A maximum of 2 horses per athlete may be ridden in the CSI2* event and no athlete may ride more than 1 horse in any one competition.  No horse may be ridden in more than one competition per day. Horses entered for International competitions are not eligible to compete in any of the National competitions at the Show.

SJ9 - International Grand Prix has a prize fund of €30,000! This competition will count towards Longines Ranking Group D.

To be considered for selection, combinations must currently be capable of jumping 1.45m and have positive competitive results at this level. 

ENTRIES & SELECTION

All athletes and horses participating in any International competition must be registered with the FEI.

Entries have to be in accordance with Art. 251 of the FEI Jumping Rules and will be completed using the FEI Online Invitation System for Jumping.

CSI2* Invitation Rules will apply which means that 30% of athletes must be invited in descending order of the Longines Ranking (compulsory invitations), 30% will be home athletes selected by the host National Federation (NF), and 40% will be athletes invited by the Organising Committee (OC) on the recommendation of the selection panel.

All ranked athletes listed on Longines Rankings are required to access the FEI Online Invitation System and select Balmoral Show as an event they wish to participate in by Monday 22 April 2024. Please also indicate the number of horses and names of the horses you wish to enter.

If not ranked and would like to be considered for selection by the OC, please email the names of the horses you wish to compete on (max of 2) along with your name, address and contact number to vickie@ruas.org.uk no later than 4pm on Sunday 31 March 2024.

Criteria for selection by the OC selection panel will be gathered from FEI rankings up to 31.01.24, February/March results from sunshine tours, SJI/BSJA rankings and results in 2023 and reference to February/March 2024 results, along with selectors knowledge of the current status of animals/athletes.
