Launch - Ulster Bank Announces expanded agri team
Ulster Bank announces expanded agri team
Ulster Bank has two additional agriculture specialists in place to coincide with this year’s Balmoral Show, of which it is principal sponsor.
Stephen Kane and David George have become agricultural development managers at the bank as part of its major campaign to attract new customers in the farming sector.
Ulster Bank’s head of agriculture, Cormac McKervey, welcomed the appointments, saying that they will further strengthen the bank’s presence in and offering to the agricultural community.
He says: “We have attracted a lot of new farming business since last year’s Balmoral Show and we recently launched a new agri finance proposition which has proved extremely successful to date. We are very pleased to be adding to our agri team to further strengthen our push for new customers as we launch the Balmoral Show. We are confident that the sponsorship of the show will help us further boost our customer-base this year. Stephen and David will have an important role in supporting the team to do so.”
Stephen Kane has worked for Ulster Bank for 20 years and has a wealth of experience in supporting customers across the SME sector. As a Commercial Relationship Manager for the last 10 years, Stephen has worked closely with the bank’s agriculture team to support its customers. David George also has a strong track record with Ulster Bank having joined the bank over 30 years ago. As Agricultural Development Managers, both Stephen and David will be responsible for supporting existing agri customers and attracting new customers to switch to Ulster Bank. They will continue to work alongside the existing business development team that covers Northern Ireland and report into Girvan Gault, Area Manager for Business Development in Business Banking in Northern Ireland.
Commenting on the appointments, Mr Gault said, “Both Stephen and David have built up their knowledge of the agriculture sector and have a deep understanding of the specific needs of the sector. We are committed to providing a high level of customer service and building strong relationships with our customers to maintain our position as Northern Ireland’s leading bank. I am confident that their experience will help us to continue to grow our market share in the agri sector.”
Ulster Bank is the primary sponsor of the Balmoral Show and, since first sponsoring the Show in 2009, the bank has boosted its farming customer base. The bank also recently launched a new agri finance package which focuses on a partnership between the bank and the customer, and offers a dedicated relationship manager with the support of the team of agri managers to each customer. The package also includes attractive fees, competitive lending rates through the Ulster Bank SME Regional fund, market-leading cash management solutions and specialised exchange rate protection – meaning that farmers can secure the future conversion rate of their Single Farm Payment.
